Bonnie Hunt is the 2026/27 Faith in Action Volunteer and a recent graduate in International Relations and Development from the University of Birmingham. She is excited to put her academic learning into practice with the Columbans while gaining a deeper understanding of the world through faith and lived experience.

Bonnie is particularly interested in peacebuilding, inspired by Jesus’ prayer for unity among his disciples and his call to love our enemies. She sees peacebuilding as central to the three core aspects of Columban work: interreligious dialogue, welcoming the stranger and caring for creation. During her year with the Columbans, she hopes to learn how to work towards peace in complex settings, drawing on the wisdom and experience of the Columban team. She looks forward to a year of growth and discovery, trusting in God’s guidance.

In her free time, Bonnie enjoys playing football, rock climbing, painting and spending time with friends and family.
