Intercessions for the 7th Sunday of Easter

Our thanks to Fr. Denis Carter who has kindly prepared intercessions for the 7th Sunday of Easter .

PRIEST: God our Father is mindful of all our needs and does great things for love of us, may we not be afraid to ask for what we need through Jesus Our Lord.

READER: As we are coming to the end of the Easter season, we pray that the Holy Spirit may teach us to truly understand the gift of eternal life, in knowing the Father and Jesus. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

On this World Communication Day, let pray for those involved in communication in whatever medium. In these times, may they always strive for clarity, truth and integrity for the good of all. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the displaced and those who have lost their homes and the means of their livelihood. Help them to overcome their sense of despair and rejection, may they find the help they need. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

We pray that our leaders and politicians and those with the power and ability,  make real efforts to recognise and help the poorest in society. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray that God may keep missionaries in his special care and grant them the faith, strength and protection they need today. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

We pray for all those who are working for understanding and tolerance in our fractured, multi-faith world. Help us take the lead in building unity and a common hope in God. Lord hear us.  Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all who are sick, those in hospital and those who are housebound. We remember especially those without access to medical care and medicine. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

We pray those who have recently died, through war, natural disasters and sickness. May the souls of the faithful rest in peace. Lord hear us.  Lord graciously hear us.

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us: Hail Mary…

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God you are glorified in your love and compassion more than we can understand. As we share this faith together, may our work, the fruit of our lives be seen as true worship. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

Let us pray...
