PRIEST: We have heard and listened to the word of God and we are challenged to trust the Lord of life in-stead of trusting corrupt human systems. We call on the Lord to help us make the right choice.
READER: In the Gospel we are challenged to have higher standards than the Law and human convention. Let us pray for the gift of reconciliation and peace. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
We pray that we recognise only one human race here on earth. May we appreciate and embrace all people whatever the ethnic difference and so enrich our world and our communities. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Recognising that we are people in need of conversion and healing, we ask God to grant us his spirit of wisdom and faith. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
We pray for missionaries today. May they be filled with joy at being Christians, bringing happiness and hope to those they serve. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
We pray for those shunned and despised because of illness, disfigurement, occupation or of lifestyle. May they be given the respect and dignity of children of God. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Let us pray for the world’s leaders and diplomats, that they may work together with true concern and compassion for the people they serve. Especially the marginalised people in our society. So that together we might build a more inclusive world. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
We pray for all those suffering the effects of extreme weather. May they find the help and comfort they need. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Let us pray for all who are sick and for all who are in hospital that they may be aware that the Lord is with them in their troubles. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
Let us pray for those who have recently died… and for all our dead… and for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord in your mercy: hear our prayer.
In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.
Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …
PRIEST: Almighty and ever living God, we give thanks for the gift and blessing of being your people. Help us to be ready to share that blessing with all; we ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
