PRIEST: With confidence in the coming of the Son of God Our Lord Jesus Christ, we humbly ask Our Loving Father to help us prepare to receive him and allow him to be born in our hearts.
READER: We pray for the Church that in this time of preparation we may be renewed in faith and hope reaching out to one another with the love of true disciples. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay.
We have each been called to stand erect with heads held high, always ready to greet our Master and God when he comes. May we help each other to grow in the faith that our liberation is close at hand and receive it in love and joy. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay.
Let us pray for the world’s leaders and diplomats, that they understand that their policies and actions affect all of humanity and the natural world. May justice, peace and hope, be the core of their work. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay.
Let us pray for the victims of violence and war everywhere, and especially the children who suffer so much. May they know the Love and compassion they need. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay.
Let us pray for those facing famine and destitution. May those with the means have the will to come to the aid of those in need. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay
Let us pray for all who are sick and for all who are in hospital that they may be aware that the Lord is with them in their troubles. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay.
Let us pray for the recently dead. May they be granted the fullness of life in Christ Jesus. Come Lord Jesus: Do not delay
In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.
Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …
PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God,
we give thanks for all the graces that you bless us with.
May we use wisely all your gifts as true witnesses to your Love;
and be filled with your spirit as we await the Day of the Lord
we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN.
