Intercessions for the 7th Sunday of Easter

Fr. Denis Carter has kindly prepared intercessions for the 7th Sunday of Easter - 12th May 2024.

PRIEST: God our Father is mindful of all our needs and does great things for love of us, may we not be afraid to ask for what we need.

READER: As we are coming to the end of the Easter season, we pray that we may truly understand and experience the forgiveness, love and protection of our Loving God. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

On this World Communication Day, let pray for those involved in communication in whatever medium, may they always strive for clarity, truth and integrity for the good of all. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for the unemployed and those who are about to lose their means of livelihood. Help them to overcome their sense of despair and rejection, may they find the help they need. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

We pray that our leaders and politicians and those with the power and ability, that they make real efforts to recognise and help the poorest in society. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

Let us pray that God may keep missionaries in his special care and grant them the faith, strength and protection they need today. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

We pray for all those who are working for understanding and tolerance in our multi-faith world. Help us take the lead in building bridges of friendship and understanding with other faiths in our neighbourhood. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for all who are sick, those in hospital and those who are housebound. We remember especially the sick of our own own families wherever they may be. Lord in your Mercy: hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for those who have recently died… and for all our dead…May they be granted the fullness of life in Christ Jesus. and for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord in your Mercy, Hear our Prayer.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us: Hail Mary…

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God
your in your goodness we are forgiven loved and cared for more than we can understand.
As we share in this Eucharist together
may our work, the fruit of our lives be seen as true worship.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
