INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 5th SUNDAY OF LENT (B)

PRIEST: Today we are reminded that the word of God is to planted deep in our hearts. So that we have a duty to proclaim the Gospel and introduce Jesus to those who seek life. Let us proclaim it with joy and give thanks to the Lord, Glorifying his Name.

READER: As we come closer to the celebration of the Passion of Christ, may we be aware of the suffering of God’s people. Those in the Holy Land, those suffering in so many places of conflict. May we come to their aid led by the love and compassion of our God. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

READER: We pray for those disabled by depression, illness and infirmity. My the health services and carers truly put their patients welfare before the cost. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for all who care for sick and for all who support them. May they be aware that the Lord is with them in their work. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for all young people. May this be a time of inspiration and strength to renew their faith and vocations as married couples, single, religious, priests, all servants of God. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for Missionaries. Especially those living and working in difficult and dangerous situations. May they be strengthened and encouraged in their love of God and service of the people. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for the world’s leaders and diplomats that all nations may work together for justice, rejecting violence to build a world of peace and hope. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for people of the world who risk their lives for the process of peace and justice. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

Let us pray for those who have recently died… and for all our dead. May they find the fullness of life in Christ. Lord in your Mercy; Hear our Prayer.

In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …

PRIEST: God, our heavenly Father, we give thanks and praise and glorify your name for the gift of being your people. May we be always ready to share the Gospel of Hope with all who are in need; we ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
