INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 31st SUNDAY OF THE YEAR

PRIEST: God our Father has called us to practice what we preach. May our worship of God be visible in our actions and our Love for God and neighbour.

READER: We pray for Christian communities everywhere that we may truly be a people of faith in word and deed. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the Clergy of the Church around the world especially those who are in leadership roles. May they be filled with faith and integrity and become true servants of the people of God. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all persecuted peoples of whatever faith or ethnic origin. May all Christians be true neighbours working for peace and reconciliation wherever they are needed.. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for a just peace in the Middle East. May those who seek revenge and retaliation be touched by the mercy of God. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for those in the world who are facing the terrible disasters of floods, earthquakes and drought. May those with the means come to the aid of the Children of God. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all the sick and wounded. May those with the means and ability come to their help. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us Pray for the dead. We pray for those of our families and friends and for who were enemies in this life. May the God of Love have mercy on them all. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own intentions.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …

PRIEST: Almighty and ever living God, we give you thanks for hearing and answering out prayers since we ask then through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.
