INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 12th SUNDAY OF THE YEAR

INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 12th SUNDAY OF THE YEAR A

PRIEST: United in the faith we have proclaimed together, we now turn to God with all our longings.

READER: Let us pray for all who have faith in Christ Jesus. We have each been called to be his witnesses. Let us pray that we may always proclaim with courage that Jesus is the Lord of creation. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We are a forgiven and redeemed people. As disciples of Jesus, may we never seek revenge or harm on those who would harm or hurt us. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for all those who are working for understanding and tolerance in our multi-faith, multi-cultural world. We pray especially that we, members of Christ’s body, will take the lead in building bridges of friendship and understanding with peoples of other faiths in our neighbourhood. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us pray for Missionaries who go to the nations and help people discover the kingdom of God among them. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us pray that we will always care for and protect God’s creation and so become true followers of Christ. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We pray for the peoples of the world whose lives are disrupted by the changing environment.

As they cry to the Lord in their need and distress, may we find ways of coming to their aid.  Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us pray for all who are sick and disabled, those in hospital and those who are housebound. We remember especially the sick of our own parish congregation and our own families wherever they may be. May the Good Lord grant them the healing only he can give. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us pray for those who have recently died… and for all our dead… and for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us: Hail Mary…

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God

you have called us to declare ourselves for you.

As we share in this Eucharist together

strengthen our faith and endurance.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN
