Message for the month of Ramadan and ‘Id Al-Fitr

Mauricio Silva, Columban Interreligious Dialogue Co-ordinator shares a letter sent by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCID) for the month of Ramadan and the celebration of 'Id Al-Fitr, which is celebrated by Muslims worldwide and marks the end of Ramadan. Please share this letter with your Muslim friends and neighbours.

Columbans in Britain would like to greet with joy our Muslim sisters and brothers who are celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan this week, with the religious holiday Eid al-Fitr. We ask that the All-Merciful God rewards their prayers and fasting during the past month, bringing peace to our cities and comfort to those who suffer. We affirm the message of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue that ‘Christians and Muslims, are called to be bearers of hope, for the present life and for the life to come, and to be witnesses, restorers and builders of this hope, especially for those experiencing difficulties and despair’.

Eid Mubarak!
