Tobi Oyedele

Faith in Action Volunteer

Tobi is short for Oluwatobi meaning ‘God is Great’ in Yoruba. Tobi is British-Nigerian as her parents are from Nigeria but she was born and raised in South-East London. Tobi studied Sociology at Kingston University and graduated in 2020, during the pandemic! Tobi chose to study Sociology at degree level as she enjoys learning about, and improving her understanding of the many diverse groups that exist in society and the challenges and advantages people experience due to their social identities such as class, race, gender and so on. She enjoys volunteering and is  glad to have been accepted on to the Columban Faith In Action volunteer programme. Tobi is looking forward to learning more about the Columban Missionaries and experiencing different ways of putting her faith into action regarding some of the world’s most pressing issues such as climate change and the refugee crisis.
