PRIEST: As we enter into this Eucharist, we remember that God loves the world so much that he sent his Son, Jesus the Christ our King, to endure the Cross, and in his resurrection saved the world.
READER: Let us pray for all young people. May this be a time of inspiration and strength to renew their faith, responding to the call of God, as married couples, or single, religious, or priests. All who help build the reign of God on Earth. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for everyone caught in the many conflicts of war and violence. The maimed and wounded, those afflicted by fear, hunger, illness and infirmity. May they be given the aid and means for life. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for Missionaries, especially those living and working in difficult and dangerous situations. May the Cross of Christ strengthen and encourage them in proclaiming God’s love and compassion. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for the world’s leaders and diplomats that they put the care and needs of their people before the lust for power and control. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for all who risk their lives for the process of peace and justice. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for all who are sick and for all who are in hospital that as they bear the burden of their cross. May the Lord grant the healing they need. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us pray for those who have recently died, and for all our dead…. Eternal rest grant unto them O lord…
We pray for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.
Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …
In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.
PRIEST: God, our heavenly Father, we give thanks and praise and glorify you for the gift of the Cross of Christ. May we know the reign of God in our lives we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
