PRIEST: Strengthened in the faith we have proclaimed together, let us humbly turn to the Lord with all our needs.
READER: Let us pray for each other, that our profession of faith is not mere lip service, but may help us become true witnesses of Christ. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
We pray for a real understanding of true humility and a right relationship with God and all of creation. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
We pray for peace and justice in our world and especially for the places where violence, death and destruction are the norm. May our leaders and politicians put the welfare of their people before self-prestige and work for a real peace with justice. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
We pray for orphans and widows everywhere, especially for those made so by war and violence. May we find the means to help them. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
Let us pray for the Church throughout the world especially for those communities who face persecution and intolerance because of their faith. May that faith inspire their persecutors to a change of heart and compassion. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
Let us pray for all who suffer ill-health and long term sickness. May they be strengthened in their journey; encouraged by our prayers and support. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
In the sure hope of the Resurrection we pray for the members of our families and friends and this community who have recently died. May they all come to eternal joy in the presence of God’s heavenly banquet. Lord in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer.
Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.
Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us as we say: Hail Mary…
PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God, you know our deepest needs and anxieties. As we share in this Eucharist together open our hearts to understand your plan for us and strengthen us to do your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
