Shoah Memorial Service: A Christian perspective

by Guest Contributor

On this, the anniversary of the Holocaust, Columban Fr. Patrick McInerney, Director at the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations in Australia, shares a summary of developments in Jewish-Christian relations which he delivered at the NSW Council of Christians and Jews gathering for the Shoah Memorial Service that he was asked to speak at in Sydney last year.

“From a lifetime of missionary ‘crossing boundaries of country, language and culture’, of academic work, and interfaith engagements, I know that the best way to learn about a religion is to get to know its followers, not as objects, but as subjects, as persons and fellow believers.” – Fr. Patrick
