INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 5th SUNDAY OF LENT (A)

PRIEST: Today we are reminded by the word of God that we have a duty to proclaim the Gospel and introduce Jesus to those who seek life. Let us proclaim it with joy and give thanks to the Lord, Glorifying his Name.

READER: As we come closer to the celebration of the Passion of Christ, may we be aware of the suffering of God's people and come to their aid led by the love and compassion of our God. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

READER: We pray for all of us, isolated and alone. May this be a time to be with the Lord, to rest in God’s love, to pray for each other and for those working so hard to care for the sick and dying. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all young people. May this be a time of inspiration and strength to renew their faith and vocations as married couples, single, religious, priests, all servants of God. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for Missionaries. Especially those living and working in difficult and dangerous situations. May they be strengthened and encouraged in their love of God and service of the people. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the world’s leaders and diplomats that all nations may work together in care and compassion for our world and all it’s peoples as one human family. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for people of the world who risk their lives for the process of peace and justice. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for those who have recently died... and for all our dead... and for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …

In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.

PRIEST: God, our heavenly Father, we give thanks and praise and glorify your name for the gift of being your people. May we be always ready to share the Gospel of Hope with all who are in need; we ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
