INTERCESSIONS FOR THE 14th SUNDAY OF THE YEAR

PRIEST: Strengthened in the faith we have proclaimed together, let us turn to
the Lord with all our needs.

READER: Let us pray for the Church throughout the world especially for those
communities who face persecution and intolerance for the sake of their faith.
Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

We pray for the people of the Middle East and for all who struggle for Justice and
Peace in their troubled nations. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

We pray that we all work for the abolition of war and the means and tools of war.
May we be true disciples of Christ dedicated to reconciliation and peace. Lord
hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us rejoice in heart and spirit to greet our Lord in the Eucharist we share
today. May we find the strength to be witnesses to hope, love and faith in our
daily lives – despite all who would mock our faith or discourage us. Lord hear
us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for Missionaries who face opposition and indifference to God’s
message of life. May they be strengthened in their faith and courage.
Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Aware of the burdens that each of us carries – the worries, the anxieties and the
difficulties in our lives; let us come and work together to share and ease those
burdens. Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all who bear the Cross of ill-health and long term sickness. May
they be strengthened in their journey; encouraged by our prayers and support.
Lord hear us. Lord graciously hear us.

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us as we say: Hail Mary…

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God,
As we share in this Eucharist together
open our hearts to understand your plan for us
and strengthen us to shoulder your yoke.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN
