prayers for Mass of Ss. Peter & Paul Solemnity

PRIEST: The saints Peter and Paul, twin pillars of our faith now at the right side of God, and now ever present to us all as examples of trust and hope. In confidence we pray for our needs today.

READER: As we are endowed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we pray that we may truly understand and experience the forgiveness, love and protection of our Loving God Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the spirit of wisdom and perception. May God enlighten the eyes of our minds to enable us to see the hope that his call holds for us. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for those who answer the call to go out into the world to proclaim the Gospel. May God keep missionaries in his special care and grant them the faith, strength and protection they need today. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

We pray for all those who are working for understanding and tolerance in our multi-faith world. Help us take the lead in building bridges of friendship and understanding with other faiths in our neighbourhood. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for the unemployed and those who are about to lose their means of livelihood. Help them to overcome their sense of despair and rejection, may they find the help they need. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

We pray that our leaders and politicians and those with the power and ability, really become awareness of the poorest in society, and find ways of caring for them in a meaningful way. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us pray for all who mourn that they may be comforted. We remember all who are sick, those in hospital and those who are housebound. We remember especially the sick of our own parish, our own families wherever they may be. Lord hear us. Response: Lord graciously hear us.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us: Hail Mary…

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God your in your goodness we are forgiven loved and cared for more than we can understand.

As we share in this Eucharist together may His grace raise us to the joys of heaven with the Father Son and Holy Spirit. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
