PRAYERS FOR PENTECOST SUNDAY Year C

PRIEST: Together we pray that the Holy Spirit, will fill our hearts. We humbly ask Our Loving Father to help us receive his Spirit and renew the faith of the earth.

READER: We pray for the Church that at this time we may be renewed by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and reach out to one another as true disciples with faith, love and hope. . Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your Spirit.

Your Holy Spirit gave your apostles the gift and power of forgiveness. Grant us that gift so we may we use it to heal a broken world. Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your Spirit.

We pray for all those who fear for their lives, for the victims of violence and war, for those in poverty and for those weighed down by troubles and anxieties. We pray that we may reach out to others with hope and care. Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your Spirit.

Father send us your Spirit of truth. That we may become your messengers, proclaiming your Love and Hope to those who have none. Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your Spirit.

Let us pray for all who are sick and for all who are in hospital that they may be aware that the Lord is with them in their troubles. Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your Spirit.

Let us pray to the living God who raised Jesus from the dead, raise up the faithful departed and let us all come with them into the glory of God’s love. Lord hear us. Response: Father send us your spirit.

In the silence of our hearts, let us pray for our own families and friends.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us. Hail Mary …

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God, we give thanks for the graces and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Help us to use all your gifts wisely as true witnesses to your Love; we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.
