PRAYERS FOR THE 3rd SUNDAY OF LENT Year C

PRIEST: Let us give thanks with all our hearts for the Lord who forgives our guilt and heals our ills. As we prepare for his passion, we pray for his help to be bringers of justice and help for the oppressed.

READER: As disciples of Christ we have been anointed to bring good news to the poor and heal broken hearts, May we show true care for the weakest among us. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

As we prepare for the changes in our lives and society that are to come, may we bear the fruit of true disciples of Jesus and be healers of division and discord. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

We pray for the victims of the climate and human caused disasters of the last month, for those who have to care for the injured, those who have lost everything and the dead. May those with the means provide the help that is needed. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

Let us pray for missionaries everywhere, especially those far from home and family. May they be blessed with what they most need at this time. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us

We pray especially for those, who are enslaved and unjustly deprived of liberty and freedom. May we work for justice and salvation in our world. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us .

We pray for the poor and homeless a this time, may we come to the aid of the most vulnerable in our society. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

We remember especially the sick, those in hospital and those who are housebound, those of our own families wherever they may be. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

Let us pray for those who have recently died... and for all our dead... and for all who mourn that they may be comforted. Lord hear us. Response: Lord Jesus help us.

Let us ask Mary the Mother of the Lord to pray with us: Hail Mary…

Now let us pray for a few moments in silence for our own needs and intentions.

PRIEST: Almighty and ever-living God as we look forward in faith to our Lord's Passion and Resurrection, grant that we may experience the repentance and forgiveness that only comes through his Love. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
