Prayer for World Day of Peace
Creator God, who sustains and renews the universe, we thank you for the precious gifts of life and faith.
As we move through 2026, we ask that you continuously pour the gift of the Holy Spirit into our hearts so that we might see the world with new vision.
Open the eyes of our mind so that we can readily recognize every person as a sister or brother deserving of our respect, concern and care.
Open the eyes of our heart so that we can grow in appreciation of the mystery and the magnificence, the beauty and the blessing of all living things and of everything that surrounds us.
Grant us the wisdom and kindness to live in harmony with everyone and everything throughout the year ahead.
May we grow in compassion towards the victims of injustice, oppression and violence.
Fill our hearts, our communities and our world with true peace, the kind of peace that only Christ can give us.
May we welcome that peace and share it generously with all those who cross our path each day throughout this year.
May all people, together with the rest of creation, prosper and praise your abundant goodness throughout 2026.
We ask all this, through Christ, the Prince of Peace for all ages,
