Missionary Society of St. Columban

This Privacy Notice applies to the personal information that the Missionary Society of St. Columban collects and uses. References in this Privacy Notice to “MSSC”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the Missionary Society of St. Columban (known also as The Society of St. Columban for Foreign Missions, The Columban Fathers or Columban Missionaries), a registered charity in England & Wales (number 221594) and in Scotland (number SCO38948). We control the ways your personal data is collected and the purposes for which your personal information are used by the MSSC. We are the “data controller” for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable European data protection legislation (e.g. GDPR).

Each year, we are assigned one or more dioceses in England & Wales and a selection of parishes in Scotland in which to conduct the annual Mission Appeal. We invite you to find out more about Columban Mission by receiving the ‘Far East’ magazine and give you the opportunity to Gift Aid your donation to the appeal.

On this website, we do not currently collect or process any personal information. However, we do invite you to contact us by email for any of the following reasons.
- To request to receive by post the Far East magazine
- To request to receive by post the Vocation for Justice magazine
- To process donations you make to Columban mission (via the Charities Aid Foundation)
- To enquire about becoming a Columban priest, lay missionary, a Faith in Action volunteer or a participant in the Invitation to Mission programme

We use this information to reply to you and to fulfil your reason(s) for contacting us. Personal information you provide is stored on a secure database (Donorflex) situated in our registered office. No personal information is stored on the website.
